You are being invited to complete a brief screening survey to determine your eligibility for a qualitative research study. The purpose of this study is to better understand healthcare providers’ experiences, perspectives, and clinical practices related to the diagnosis, treatment, and care of sexual pain disorders among patients with Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) and Hypermobility Spectrum Disorders (HSD). Findings from this study will be used to inform future research and to improve clinical awareness and care for individuals experiencing sexual pain.

The screening survey will ask a small number of questions about your professional role, clinical practice setting, and experience caring for patients with sexual pain disorders. The survey will take approximately 2 minutes to complete.

Participation in this screening survey is voluntary. Your responses will be used only to assess eligibility for the study and will not be linked to your identity if you do not meet eligibility criteria or if you choose not to participate in the full study. Completing this screening survey does not obligate you to participate in the full research study.  If you are determined to be eligible, you may be contacted with additional information about the study and next steps.

To ensure that study findings accurately reflect the intended population, only individuals who meet all eligibility criteria should complete the screening survey. Please answer each of the following questions with “yes” or “no.” If you answer “yes” to all questions, you are eligible to participate. If you answer “no” to any question, you are not eligible.

If eligible, you will be asked to provide your name and email address so that we can send you the invitation to the main study. If you have any questions about this study, you may contact the co-investigator/study-contact Jenny Niedenfuehr at jenny.niedenfuehr@uth.tmc.edu. For questions about your rights as a research participant, please contact the Committee for the Protection of Human Subjects - UTHealth Houston
